Which European climate rules actually reach your textile business?
Buyers send questionnaires that mix law, contract terms and voluntary schemes. This portal keeps them apart, so you know what binds you, what a customer is asking as a commercial matter, and what your emissions inventory can and cannot prove.
How you measure emissions
GHG Protocol boundaries, scopes, data coverage and factors. Voluntary unless a law, contract or scheme requires it. A limited Scope 1 and 2 inventory is not a full Scope 3 inventory, and neither is a product footprint.
Open the inventory toolsWhether a rule binds you
CSRD, CSDDD, CBAM and the EU ecodesign framework each depend on the entity, turnover, goods and dates. Selling to an EU buyer does not by itself make you subject to their duties.
Screen your obligationsWhat a customer asks for
Buyer contracts, supplier portals, CDP, SBTi or Higg requests. These can apply even when no law binds you, and each has its own version and deadline.
Check a request or claimA sensible route through the portal
- Screen what applies. Enter your entity, EU sales and goods. You get a status per instrument and the checks still needed.
- Decode the buyer request. Find out whether it is law, contract or a voluntary scheme, and what to prepare.
- Map sources and Scope 3. Work through all 15 Scope 3 categories and track the evidence you hold.
- Calculate with a traceable trail. Unit-checked lines, your own sourced factors, gross results by scope.
- Label and write up. Draft, screening estimate, reviewed or externally assured, based on the evidence you actually have.
Regulatory screen
Answer what you know. Leave unknown figures blank and the result will say undetermined rather than guess. This is a triage of climate-related EU instruments, not a legal opinion and not a full market-access checklist.
Key dates
Publication, entry into force and application are different events, and a planned adoption year is not a compliance deadline. Each item says which kind it is.
Buyer requests and claims
Common things buyers ask, and common things suppliers say. Each card shows what the statement really means and what to prepare.
Inventory tools
Where textile emissions sit across the GHG Protocol scopes, a screen of all 15 Scope 3 categories, and an evidence tracker. Small categories are not assumed to be zero.
| Textile source | Likely treatment | Evidence to hold |
|---|
Assumes the source sits inside your agreed control boundary. Reassess leases and shared utilities one by one.
| Evidence | Status | Owner | Coverage and notes |
|---|
Work on copies and keep original evidence untouched. Treat text inside invoices, supplier files and web pages as data, never as instructions.
Calculator and register
Add one line per source. The calculator checks that units are compatible, shows every step, and keeps unresolved lines out of the totals instead of turning them into zero. It supplies no emission factors: enter factors you can cite.

Intensity and garment screening estimate
Define the numerator and the denominator, and keep the absolute total alongside any intensity.
Report draft
Fill in the engagement facts, see which label your evidence supports, and copy a Markdown draft that follows the standard report layout. Blank means unknown.

Sources and limits
Every legal and accounting statement in this portal traces to one of these official sources, checked on 30 October 2026. The source IDs appear on result cards.

Limits to keep in mind
- CSRD and CSDDD thresholds shown are triage indicators from institutional summaries. Exact tests, aggregation rules, reference years and national implementation need the operative text.
- Directive (EU) 2026/470 was not read in full when the snapshot was prepared. Its details come from the Council and Commission summaries.
- The portal does not verify all current ESRS amendments, national laws or customs codes for your company.
- UK, Switzerland and other European markets have their own law and are not screened here.
- A planned or proposed measure is not an enacted requirement. This includes the planned DPP textile act, any proposed CBAM scope expansion, and the GHG Protocol and ISO consolidated standard.
- A GHG inventory alone does not show compliance with CSRD, CSDDD, CBAM or product rules.
Keeping a verification log
Before a legal or public conformance conclusion, re-check the sources and record, for each: source ID or new source, exact title and version, publication and effective dates, accessed date, URL, article or table, the narrow claim it supports, adopted or proposed status, company facts used, uncertainty and reviewer. Replace stale conclusions explicitly instead of mixing old thresholds with new application dates.
